Lunar Prospector Mission Collection, 1987 - 1988.

The collection contains articles, development, technical and briefing reports, diagrams and memoranda pertaining to the Lunar Prospector mission. Lunar Prospector was launched to the Moon on January 6, 1998. Its primary mission was to research the polar regions of the Moon and to investigate whether or not water ice is buried inside the lunar crust. It also was to study the minerals and gases that could be used to build and sustain a human lunar base and/or the ability to launch spacecrafts from the moon to the rest of the Solar System.
